POWERED CRAFT INCLUDING TOWING (Jet ski, banana boat, power boat)
1. Drowning (including falling
overboard)
Fatality Buoyancy aid to be worn by all passengers and crew. Crew and driver competent
to recover man overboard.
Maximum numbers that are permitted on any craft should not be exceeded
including inflatable craft. All passengers to remain seated at all times.

2. Injury from propeller Major injury All powered craft will be fitted with an engine cut out switch which should be used
correctly at all times. Lanyard must remain attached to the instructor.
(Unless on PWC course where it will be attached to the helm.)
Engine switched off when recovering swimmers.

3. Collision Fatality
Operate at safe speed - Do not rely on reverse or braking systems on jet
ski’s
Only 1 towing vehicle is permitted to use the south side of Coy’s Lake at
one time. If there are 2 towing vehicles on the lake, one should hold off at
the most northerly buoy until the other towing vehicle has exited the south
side of the lake.
When towing inflatable toys you must follow the specified route (see
diagram). You may deviate from this route if you need to pick up a Man
over Board or to avoid a hazard.
When towing from a Ski Boat a trained spotter will be used.
When towing from a jet ski a spotter will not be used as they impede the
helm’s view behind and can affect the balance of the ski.
