The fuel tank and battery (if fitted) should be adequately secured. Outboard

engines should be securely attached ideally with additional bolts through the

transom.

Safety equipment carried in a power boat:

 Tow lines.

 Paddles.

 Anchor.

 Bailer.

In a Personal watercraft a tow line is sufficient.

The instructor must know the correct capsize procedure for PW.

Fuel – It is vital that the correct fuel and oil are used in the correct craft.

Mixing of 2 stroke fuel is to be done by the Water sports Coordinator or his

designates.

12. Whiplash Minor injury Towline length should not exceed 15 metres.

Inflatable towing speed should not exceed 15 mph and wide long turns should be

performed.

Towing other items (Skiers, wake boarders and knee boarders) a sensible speed

should be adopted related to the age, weight and experience of the rider. Good

communication between helm and rider is essential.
